Picture this tragic scene in a tiny little cottage in Zarephath; the obituary has been written and the last meal is being prepared

Tomorrow seems hopeless and futility is impressed in her face A bad situation has only gotten worse and there seems to be only one way out.  Maybe you feel like that today

1 Kings 17:8-16Living Bible (TLB)

8-9 Then the Lord said to him, “Go and live in the village of Zarephath, near the city of Sidon. There is a widow there who will feed you. I have given her my instructions.”

10 So he went to Zarephath. As he arrived at the gates of the city he saw a widow gathering sticks; and he asked her for a cup of water.

11 As she was going to get it, he called to her, “Bring me a bite of bread too.”

12 But she said, “I swear by the Lord your God that I haven’t a single piece of bread in the house. And I have only a handful of flour left and a little cooking oil in the bottom of the jar. I was just gathering a few sticks to cook this last meal, and then my son and I must die of starvation.”

13 But Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid! Go ahead and cook that ‘last meal,’ but bake me a little loaf of bread first; and afterwards there will still be enough food for you and your son. 14 For the Lord God of Israel says that there will always be plenty of flour and oil left in your containers until the time when the Lord sends rain and the crops grow again!”

15 So she did as Elijah said, and she and Elijah and her son continued to eat from her supply of flour and oil as long as it was needed. 16 For no matter how much they used, there was always plenty left in the containers, just as the Lord had promised through Elijah!

But, God… saw… this… woman

God sees you too, he knows where you are hurting the most, He knows who has stripped you of your joy, your peace, and your victory

And He is not through with you, He still has enough supernatural supply to meet you need no matter how impossible you think it is….Tomorrow is not here yet

What you have today can produce what you need for your future.

Elijah did not talk about her lack, he talked about her future

(She said I have for me and my son, He said make for me first and then for you and your son)

She did not argue about how much she had

She did not get indignant about the theology of what he asked

She did not whine about how selfish and greedy it was

She just obeyed his words to her

What you believe creates the life you experience…

She wanted to live: She had to change her belief system to get her future:

She had the ability to recognize a man of God

She had the willingness to listen to the Wisdom of his instructions

She had the faith necessary to do what he said so her future could be changed

She knew that what she was doing was not working

She acted on the word and experienced Gods supernatural supply in a time of Famine

Her obedience to the Word of God produced a new experience in her life!

If you are still breathing, you still have options.  Stop wasting time! Whatever God has asked you to do, DO IT and do it now!
